WEB02-19-2022 08:22 AM in. Hello, I just installed a new Samsung 980 Pro 2TB in my Dell laptop with an i7-1195G7 and Windows 11. Everything seems to be fine so far. Booting and performance don't seem to be an issue. The M.2 slot in my laptop is PCIe 3.0 so speeds are not maxing out the 980 Pro but speeds are still decent.

WEBDec 1, 2020 · Type Optimize in the search bar in windows. Click on the drive and then click optimize. I went from 2000mb/s write to 4000mb/s. Still not the peak performance but much better. I also have a empty 980pro 1tb in my second m.2. slot and it hasnt had this issue but i also dont have anything stored on it right now. 0 Likes.

Removed the safe mode operation, and rebooted into normal windows. Installed the Samsung NVME drivers. Rebooted. Magician has now applied the firmware update. View solution in context.

The 980 needs to be wiped clean of all partitions and allow the USB stick with the full Win Install routine to format it as a GPT device. The Install will then add the NVME drivers for the 980.
