They have bought new monitors with recommended resolution of 3840x1080 pixels. Since the 8300 only supports 1920x1080 they need a new graphics card.

Some setups actually disable integrated when a GPU is installed too. I've found I can't use integrated when it is plugged in. In any case, he still must plug them both into his GPU.
