Ground Up Build - Where to Source Frame / Chassis
WEBJul 12, 2020 · I mainly do either ezgo (Steel frame) or club car (aluminum frame). Then check your local craigslist, letgo, offer up and even a local cart shop. Since you're doing a ground up build you should have a hard time finding a rolling chassis or a car that needs a full redo. Like I said sometimes even cart shops have rolling chassis for sale for cheap.

I don't know if the cart was rode hard, but it looks like it was put up wet. My plan at this time is to use a rust converter, followed by primer and paint.

Using a 12v tail light bulb, connect it between any positive battery post and the frame. If the light turns on, you have a problem.

WEBFeb 24, 2019 · Here's my frame with a "clean" crack on the front passenger side, along with the weld fix he did. As you can see he reinforced it with metal patches. Now, cart frames are heat treated and hard as all get out. I did not re-heat treat the frame and it's been holding up very well for about a year now.
