WEBJan 31, 2023 · Puget worked with Samsung to identify the problem, and now Samsung has issued new firmware for affected 980 Pro SSDs. According to Puget, the failures traced back to the 3B2QGXA7 firmware and primarily affect 2TB versions of the 980 Pro (although lower capacities are not entirely immune).

WEBDec 14, 2021 · Used some small flat plastic pieces that came with the set of bits and got the pieces separated. Two of the three thermal pads stayed on the chips. I would suggest researching what workloads NVMe benefits though, it's not recommended to overspend on drive speed you don't use.
