Best NVMe Driver for 980 Pro & Windows 11 - Samsung Community
WEBFeb 19, 2022 · The M.2 slot in my laptop is PCIe 3.0 so speeds are not maxing out the 980 Pro but speeds are still decent. Question: Magician is reporting the Microsoft NVMe driver in use. According to Samsung's website, the Samsung NVMe driver v3.3 does not support the 980 Pro. Is the Microsoft driver the best option at this point?

WEBJul 28, 2024 · If you have an intel CPU you will need to download the latest driver for your motherboard for Intel Rapid Storage Technology. Then once you have that installed go into your bios and turn on Intel Rapid Storage. After that you will be able to see the 980pro in Samsung Magician.

WEBApr 22, 2022 · Ahh, ok. The PM851 is a Sata SSD while the 980 is a NVME SSD. Different animals and the OS is installed differently. The 980 needs to be wiped clean of all partitions and allow the USB stick with the full Win Install routine to format it as a GPT device. The Install will then add the NVME drivers for the 980.
