Take bus number 51 from the Staten Island ferry terminal. This bus meets every ferry. Look for the ramp at the ferry terminal that leads to bus 51. The beach runs for about three miles with many bus stops along the way. The restaurants and rest rooms are close to the start of the route along the beach front. Further along is an excellent Fishing pier which juts into the harbor and and just be walked on for the smell of salt air. The road along the beachfront is named Capadanno Blvd. for a Staten Islander who received the Medal of Honor in Vietnam. Enjoy your trip. Peter Hagan 1Lt. USMC. I went to the same local high school as our Medal of Honor honoree.
