Troopers say a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado traveling east on Old Morganton struck a bicyclist exiting the Gamewell Park parking lot.

A 48-year-old bicyclist was killed Thursday in a crash in Caldwell County. Around 9:10 a.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to a crash on Old Morganton Road SW near US 64. Henry Lee Tester was leaving the Gamewell Park parking lot when a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado traveling east struck him.

GAMEWELL, N.C. – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a pickup truck Thursday morning in Caldwell County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. It happened just after 9 a.m. on Old Morganton Road SW near US 64. Deputies said a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east when it struck a bicyclist leaving the Gamewell Park parking lot.

Florida Highway Patrol officials responded to a fatal crash on Thursday night. The incident happened just after 10:30 p.m, near Hatcher Road on Highway 77. According to FHP officials, a 54-year-old Chipley man was riding his bike Northbound on State Road 77 in the outside lane.

A man on a bicycle was hit and killed Thursday morning in Caldwell County, investigators said. The highway patrol said the man was hit after 9 a.m. along Old Morganton Road near U.S. 64. The road was being used as an alternate route around repairs being done along Highway 18.
