Coco Gauff is through to the semi-finals of the China Open for a second consecutive year after coming from behind to beat Yuliia Starodubtseva. Fourth seed Gauff lost the first set of the quarter-final on Thursday but fought back to beat the Ukrainian qualifier 2-6 6-2 6-2.

Sixth-ranked Coco Gauff again had a slow start and had to rally to beat Ukrainian qualifier Yuliia Starodubtseva to make the China Open semifinals.

Coco Gauff fought back from a set down to beat Spain's Paula Badosa and surge into the final of the China Open on Saturday. The jubilation was short-lived, as Badosa broke back immediately and sealed the set on her third set point when Gauff overhit a simple forehand return.
