Mexico’s has announced “Sujo” as the country’s entry for Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards. The movie written and directed by Astrid Rondero and Fernanda Valadez won the World Cinema Dramatic Grand Jury Prize at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and will hit theaters November 29.

Italy will send Maura Delpero's World War 2 drama Vermiglio into the 2025 Oscar race for Best International Feature. Vermiglio premiered at the Venice Film Festival last month, where it scooped up the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize.
