Shanti Homam began at Sri Venkateswara Temple on Monday as purification rituals after animal fat was reportedly found in the ghee used to make Tirupati laddus.

The Union health ministry on Monday issued a show cause notice to the company that allegedly supplied adulterated ghee to Tirupati's Sri Venkateswara temple after it failed the quality test.According to the ministry,

This action comes amid growing concerns regarding the quality of ghee used in the preparation of Laddu Prasadam at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala.

A show-cause notice has been issued to AR Dairy amid ongoing controversy regarding the presence of 'animal fat' in ghee used for the preparation of laddus in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). T

TTD has introduced a ghee testing system for the first time to ensure the purity of ingredients used in the famous Tirupati laddu prasadam. This initiative, led by Executive Officer Shamala Rao, addresses concerns about adulteration and will blacklist suppliers providing impure products.
